I have some basic questions about mac mail.
I have a substantial # of e-mail messages (700+) from 2-5 years ago that I want to store on another drive and delete from my iMac. I want to be able to view these messages from the other drive.
The information I have found thus far leads me to believe that I have to take my entire mail folder from the Library and copy it to the other drive. Then, the only way I can look at those old messages is to drag the entire mail folder from the external drive and put it back in the library, thus restoring the old messages but also erasing any new ones.
Isn't there a way to simply copy the messages I want to an external drive and view them from the external drive only?
