Hey guys,
Performance, start up times, features, everythings benchmarked and compared on multiple sites but i couldn't find a word on the host system load and the resulting heat and noise for Fusion 5 or Parallels 8.
Working with a Retina MacBook Pro, VMware Fusion 5 and Windows Server 2008 for a week now I am really unsatisfied with the noise level of my working environment.
Some data:
Windows 8 idle: 2000-3000 rpm
Windows 8 load: 3000-4000 rpm
Windows Server 2008: 4000-5200 rpm (not getting lower even in idle, tried everything on the VM site, like Power Settings)
Here's my question: Is there a difference between VMware Fusion 5 and Parallels 8 concerning the heat or noise produced?
And as a result: Can I lower the humming sound in my office by switching to Parallels 8?
Regards,
